About 985,000 Hasbro Easy-Bake Ovens, now manufactured in China, have been recalled for repair because they pose an entrapment and burn hazard hazard for children. Parents and caregivers should immediately take these dangerous products away from children under 8 years of age to avoid serious personal injuries, specifically burns. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of this dangerous product. If your child has suffered injuries as a result of this defective product, you should contact a product liability attorney.
The hazard is that young children can put their hands into the oven’s opening and get their fingers or hands trapped and burned. Easy-Bake admits to 29 reports of children getting their hands or fingers trapped in the oven’s opening, and to five reports of burns. This recall applies only to ovens sold after May 2006. these ovens are being sold at Target, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, KB Toys and other retailers nationwide from May 2006 through February 2007 for about $25.
