Algoma Net Co. is recalling certain models of their hammock stands because a design flaw can cause the foot brackets to crack or tear, which may cause falls and personal injuries. The defect is not readily detectable, and could lead to serious injury or death. The company has already received 28 reports of cracking or tearing of the foot brackets. Consumers who purchased Algoma hammock stand with the model number 6250, 6250BH or 6290 W88B should stop using the product immediately, or risk serious injury or death from these dangerous products. Consumers can call (800) 800-7083 to order a free replacement part.
